Is the Little Mermaid in the public domain?
Hello there, I've been wondering about something and I'd love to get your opinion on it. Do you think that the classic story of The Little Mermaid, perhaps best known through Disney's animated film, is now considered to be in the public domain? I mean, with its origins dating back to Hans Christian Andersen's original tale, surely there's a point where copyrights expire and the story becomes freely accessible for all to use and adapt, right? Or do the various adaptations and reinterpretations throughout the years complicate things? Curious to hear your thoughts on this.
